MEET THE SHADOWS

Some travelers find that certain Shadows visit them again and again.

These are four of the most common.

Read their whispers. Notice their Patterns. Then try the technique that other travelers have used to find relief.

THE FOG WALKER

You feel here, but not really here

The Fog Walker dulls your presence.

Days blur together. Life feels automatic.

You move, but don’t fully participate.

Signs you may be visited:

  • Days and weeks blur together

  • You forget moments you should remember

  • Nothing feels exciting anymore

  • You go through the motins

Five things you can see. Bring your attention back to the present.

Walk without headphones. Let the world re-enter your awareness.

Photograph on interesting thing each day. Train your mind to notice again.

Ask: “what surprised me today?” Surprises break the fog.

Step outside, even briefly. Natural light is a powerful antidote.

Place a hand on your heart and breathe deeply. You are allowed to be a human.

A Note From the Caravan

Hey, Traveler,

If you recognized yourself in any of these shadows, know that you are not walking a strange road.

Many travelers encounter them.

Shadows often begin as attempts to protect us — to keep us safe from pain, disappointment, rejection, or loss. But sometimes they grow larger than the burdens they were meant to carry, and what once protected us begins to keep us from living fully.

If a shadow ever feels too heavy to carry alone, please consider reaching out to someone you trust.

A friend.

A family member.

A counselor.

A guide.

Another traveler beside the fire.

Speaking what we carry often weakens the shadow's hold more than carrying it silently ever could.

And if you ever feel like you may be in immediate danger, or that you might harm yourself, please call 911 or contact the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline by calling or texting 988. There are people ready to listen and ready to help.

Even when the road feels dark, you do not have to walk it alone.

The Caravan keeps its fires lit for moments exactly like these.

"Some roads are too heavy for one traveler to carry alone. There is wisdom in asking another traveler to walk beside you for a while." — Rowan

Not everyone meets every Shadow.

Most meet several.

Some discover they have walked beside one for years without knowing its name.

Naming a shadow does not give it power.

It give you a lantern.
