Description

"The Echo Weaver does not create thoughts. It creates echoes."

Among the most persistent Shadows known to the Caravan, the Echo Weaver specializes in turning moments into loops.

A conversation becomes a replay.  A mistake becomes a rehearsal. A glance becomes a theory. A memory becomes a maze.

Unlike the Hollow Judge, which seeks conviction, the Echo Weaver seeks continuation. It does not care what conclusion the traveler reaches. It only wants the traveler to keep spinning.

Many travelers report that encounters with the Echo Weaver feel productive at first. The mind appears busy. Active. Engaged.

Yet after hours of analysis, little clarity has been gained.

The thread simply continues.

Research Notes

Rowan's Research Notes

"The Echo Weaver is frequently mistaken for wisdom. This appears to be one of its most effective disguises. Reflection often creates understanding. Rumination rarely does. The distinction can be difficult to recognize while inside the web."

— Rowan

 Ember's Observation

"I've noticed the Echo Weaver hates simple answers. Sometimes I'll ask, 'What if nothing is wrong?' and the whole thing starts unraveling."

— Ember

Campfire Notes

Travelers report:

"I replayed the conversation for three days."

"I thought I was solving the problem."

"The more I analyzed it, the less certain I became."

"The loop broke the moment I asked someone else."

Questions for Further Study

  • Why does uncertainty seem to strengthen the Echo Weaver so dramatically?

  • Can reflection and rumination be reliably distinguished?

  • Does the Weaver create stories, or simply amplify the ones already present?

  • The Caravan remains divided on this question.
